Bluefield Partners, established in 2009, is one of the fastest growing investment groups focused on solar PV in Europe. It is supported by Bluefield Services, its Bristol-based technical asset management company. In 2013, Bluefield listed the Bluefield Solar Income Fund (LON: BSIF) on the London Stock Exchange. BSIF is the first and highest performing of the publicly traded investment companies focused on solar. The fund has over £600m of gross assets and currently manages 435MWp of UK-based PV farms. The Bluefield team has been involved in over £1.5 billion of solar PV funds and/or transactions in both the UK and Europe since 2008, including £750m in the UK since 2011.

Bluefield is majority owned and managed by its three founding partners. The partners are supported by a dedicated and highly experienced team of investment, legal and finance executives.

The Role

As part of its expansion plans into the global solar market, Bluefield is looking to hire a Business Development Analyst to join its Fund Strategy team. The role will cover a broad range of work streams with a focus on market analysis, identification of investment opportunities, tracking of industry trends and supporting the equity raising process. Day-to-day responsibilities will include: research into renewable energy markets, investor pitch deck development, industry and competitor analysis and the development and maintenance of market intelligence tools and databases. As applicable, the Analyst would also get client and other counterparty exposure as part, of the team’s business development efforts. The role will also involve supporting the team’s work with shareholders and equity analysts covering the listed Bluefield Solar Income Fund (LON: BSIF).

Skills/Experiences required:

  • Obtained at least a 2:1 in your chosen degree discipline
  • Demonstrated track record of superior academic and work performance; demonstrated commitment to outstanding results
  • Strong analytical, comprehension and problem solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to master new tasks quickly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with focus on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment
  • A demonstrated interest in renewable energy would be advantageous 
  • Knowledge of financial modelling, project finance and valuation would be advantageous
